Degen Excavating is a second‑generation, family‑owned contractor serving Northwest Ohio since 1958. With more than six decades of experience, we support industrial, municipal, and commercial clients across an eleven‑county region and beyond. We are a union‑affiliated company with the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 18 and the Laborers’ International Union of North America Local 329. Our team includes more than fifty highly trained union employees. Degen Excavating is ODOT pre‑qualified and has maintained BBB accreditation for over 21 years. Our operators hold OQ (Operator Qualification) training for work in pipeline, chemical, and petroleum facilities including Cenovus, Nutrien, Buckeye Pipeline, Energy Transfer, and Marathon. All team members are confined‑space certified and OSHA‑30 trained. In addition to excavation services, we support municipal water and wastewater operations, providing sludge, sewage, grit, and filter media removal from tanks, vessels, and treatment structures.
